Worth every penny
Bought this for my son's birthday and he has barely put it down since. The wand feels solid — you can tell there is metal inside, it makes this satisfying crisp tap when it touches the floor. Nicer than I expected for the price, and the box it comes in looks like something straight out of the movies. The spell sheet included kept him practicing all weekend.

Looks better on a desk than the listing photo, and I can keep refilling it
Bought the Ravenclaw cover for my daughter's revision notes and it has more or less taken over her desk. The cover is a soft matte leatherette in a dusty powder blue rather than the bright navy the listing thumbnail suggests, with the eagle crest and the corner vines pressed into the surface in the same colour, so they only really show when the light rakes across it - which looks better in person than a printed graphic would. Stitching runs clean around the edge with no wandering thread. The reason I picked a binder over a notebook is that she can pull sections out and refill them as her subjects change, and that has already happened twice this term. It arrived in a red box with the cover carded and a hangtag printed with the barcode and the small certification marks on the back, which is the sort of thing I look for now. Two honest notes: the pale cover picks up fingerprints fast, and the tone-on-tone embossing is nearly invisible in dim light, so do not expect the crest to jump off the shelf. Eleven ninety-nine, and it has already outlasted the two spiral notebooks it replaced.

Went back and bought a second one the same week
Started with the Hogwarts crest cover for myself, then ordered the Gryffindor one for my daughter four days later because she would not stop picking mine up. The cover has a padded leatherette feel instead of the thin plasticky stuff you usually get at this price, and the gold tooling on the corner flourishes is still sharp when you look at it up close. The lock is why I bought it twice - three digits, set with the little lever, and it stays shut rolling around in a backpack. Setting the combination the first time takes a minute, and I would write it down somewhere. Inner pages are colour printed with small house motifs, which my daughter spotted before I did. Both arrived in about nine days, flat and padded, no bent corners.

Nine ninety-nine, and it does not look it
The blue outside is a matte lacquer rather than gloss, which is why the silver relief reads so clearly on it - the star band at the rim, the harlequin diamonds around the base, and the eagle crest inside its wreath all stand proud of the surface. The shield in the middle is enamelled, so the blue behind the eagle is a deeper, glassier blue than the body. The handle is the part everyone picks up first: a raven with its wings open, cast in one piece with the scrollwork under it, and the feather edges are sharp rather than rounded off. Inside is stainless - you can see the polished lip sitting just above the rim - so it does not taste of anything and a hot drink is not a problem. It has real weight to it, enough that it does not slide when you set it down hard on a wooden table. Two small things: dust settles in the recesses between the relief and the lacquer and needs a soft brush, and the gap inside the handle where the wing meets the scroll is tight for a large hand. Nine ninety-nine, and it does not look like nine ninety-nine.

Bigger than I pictured, and it is closer to a desk piece than a magnet
Bought this as a small extra for a birthday and then kept it, because it is nearer a little ornament than a fridge magnet. It is bigger than I pictured - the wings span about five and a half inches - and the sphere is not a smooth ball: the wing veins are cut into it and the outer wings have fine feather lines etched across them, so it reads as metalwork rather than a printed shape. The gold is an antique brass tone rather than bright yellow, which is what sells it. Magnet strength is fine for paper and photos, though it will slide if you try to pin a thick card or a stack. It comes in a long white box with a window and a foam bed, so mine arrived unmarked and did not need wrapping. Two honest cautions: the wing tips are thin metal and will bend if you are careless pulling a note out from underneath, and if your fridge is brushed stainless without a magnetic face it will not stick at all - mine ended up on the side panel. Nineteen dollars is steep for a magnet, less so for what this actually is.

Two of these for under ten dollars and both feel like real merch
Bought two - the four-house crest one for my bag and the Slytherin one for my nephew - and at this price I expected the thin stamped stuff you get out of a claw machine. These are solid. The crest disc is die-cast with an antique brass finish, the four house colours are filled in cleanly with no bleed between the red, green, blue and yellow, and the disc actually spins on its rivet, so it does double duty as something to fiddle with while you wait in line. The clasp is a proper lobster clip on a split ring, so you can pop the charm off and hang it on a backpack without emptying your keys. Mine has been on a ring with two keys and a car fob for two weeks - no fading, no scratches through the enamel. They arrive on a carded backing with the licensed hologram sticker and barcode printed on the back, not loose in a bag, and that is honestly why I trusted them. Two small things: the polished areas pick up fingerprints and the card creases when you tear it open. Neither bothers me at four ninety-nine.
